Dear Members,

Welcome to the 88th year of the Cleveland Women’s Golf Association.  The Executive Board and I are excited about the upcoming 2011 golf season.

Each year we ask the members of CWGA how we can improve from the previous golf season.  We, the Board, listen and make adjustments.  It has been wonderful that all the events are now shotgun starts.  Participation at the tournaments has increased.  The CWGA Cup was well-received and congratulations to Fran Crawford for being the 1st recipient of the award.

We will be making a change for the Championship event this season, in hopes that it will help increase the number of participants.  We will no longer have a qualifying round on Monday.  The District Championship will be a four-day event and will be flighted by handicap.  Beechmont Country Club is very excited to be the host club for this event, Tuesday, August 2nd thru August 5th.  We encourage everyone to enter.  The camaraderie, the laughs, the special memories from this tournament will be unforgettable, not to mention some wonderful golf!

There is a golf tournament for every CWGA member, no matter if your handicap is a single digit or 40.4.  Let us see which club can have the distinction of most participants.

We, the Board, guarantee once you play in one, you will want to play in as many tournaments as possible.

Thank you for being part of the history that makes CWGA what it is!

Sincerely,

Pat Ringenbach
